On December 8(Beijing Time), CWHL of 2017-2018 season regularly continued. The only two Chinese women team in the league played a Derby Game at Harbin Institute of Sports. Liu Zhixin scored the second ball of China. Stark scored twice. Haeckel, Wang Yuting and Anderson had made contributions. Finally, Kunlun beat Vanke 6-0, and won the Chinese derby.

In penalty shootout, Chu Li saved all four penalties, and Mosher scored a winning goal. Vanke beat Furies by penalty shootout 2-1, and won the a four-game winning streak at home. In the last match, Kunlun defeated opponent 3-1 at the NHL Bell Center. Both sides of the campaign were ambitious to win: Kunlun expected to two-game winning streak and Canadiens was looking forward to prove the strength of the defending champion at home. At 2 :00 a.m. November 12 on Beijing Time, Shenzhen Kunlun Red Star went to Montreal Canadiens, against the last CWHL championship Canadian team. In order to welcome the advent of the Kunlun Red Star, the game was held at the Bell Center, home to NHL team, which also made Kunlun the first Chinese club to participate in the competition at the NHL venue. Chinese Ambassador in Canada Lu Shaye, Wen Jia,the President of Hua Jing Group , CWHL coalition chairman Andreas and Montreal Mayor Prandtl attended the focus of this war. As one of the most notable teams of the season, Kunlun was considered the most capable team to challenge Canadians before the season began.
