15 October 2018

This scoreline mirrored the result a month ago when Slovan came to Shanghai – and Red Star duly skated off with a shootout verdict. Now, despite Sunday’s defeat, Red Star can point to a run of nine games, seven of which have seen the team collect at least one point.

The last time these teams met, back on September 16 in Shanghai, Dinamo was in top form while Red Star was still finding its feet in the current season. Now, almost a month later, the tables are turning.

Closing in. Admiral Vladivostok 2 Kunlun Red Star 3

10 October 2018

Our latest visit to ‘local’ rival Admiral was settled by Brandon Yip’s late goal – but in truth, this was a game that we could have wrapped up earlier than the 59th minute.

SKA sets record, loses game. September 28 round-up

28 September 2018

SKA set a new all-time Russian record shut-out streak before finally allowing a goal. But after Avangard stopped the clock at 326:27, the Army Men saw their seven-game winning streak halted in a shoot-out. Sibir, meanwhile, slumped to a 12th successive loss after a 1-5 mauling in Minsk. Torpedo edged Red Star in an overtime thriller, while Admiral beat Neftekhimik in a shoot-out. Ak Bars rallied to beat Amur and Vityaz snapped a four-game losing streak with success over Salavat Yulaev.

Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod 3 Kunlun Red Star 2 OT

28 September 2018

Red Star’s latest road trip has been full of drama and there’s plenty of encouragement for the team after picking a fifth point in three games here in Nizhny Novgorod. After back-to-back wins in Tatarstan, hopes were high for a third successive win and another opponent conquered for the first time. The roster was boosted by the addition of experienced Canadian forward Martin St. Pierre, best known in the KHL from his time at Barys.
