Elsewhere, Metallurg edged Severstal 2-1, Spartak cruised to a 4-1 win at Slovan and Sochi pushed CSKA all the way to a shoot-out. The Baltic battle between Dinamo Riga and Jokerit also ended 1-1 in regulation, with Dinamo taking the verdict thanks to Linus Videll.

In Moscow, Dynamo suffered another defeat as Barys forward Matt Frattin scored 2+1 in a 3-2 overtime success. Kunlun Red Star frustrated Neftekhimik to win 2-0 in Nizhnekamsk, Traktor suffered another heavy defeat and Ak Bars inflicted a 10th successive loss on Sibir.

Ak Bars won the Tatarstan derby and Slovan took the verdict in an absorbing encounter in Vladivostok.
