The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best player of the third week of the Regular Season in four categories.

Best goaltender was Igor Shestyorkin (SKA), who had two shutouts and two away wins against HC Dynamo and Lokomotiv. In these games, the goalie stopped a total of 47 shots and his goalless streak – still alive – is at 131 minutes and 11 seconds.

Best defenseman was Patrik Hersley (SKA), who won three away games with his team last week, scoring three goals (the best result among all defensemen in the league) and adding a helper. The Swedish blueliner posted game-winning goals against HC Dynamo and Severstal, scoring a double in Cherepovets. Hersley posted no negative ratings, earning a +1 for the week. Moreover, he had nine shots on goal.

Best forward was Michal Repik (Slovan), who scored five goals in three away games (the best result among all forwards in the league). He also had one assist and earned a +1. Repik scored in all last week’s games, with a hat-trick against Kunlun Red Star and the game-winning goal against Admiral. The Czech forward had a total of 15 shots on goal (once again, the best results among players in his position).

Best rookie was forward Nikolai Kovalenko (Lokomotiv), who won two games out of three with his team, adding a double against Vityaz with one goal being the game-winner. The 18-year-old forward posted no negative ratings, earning a +3 for the week. Kovalenko had an average time on ice of 11 minutes and 1 second, and three hits.
