CHINA’S FIRST CWHL BATTLE ATTRACTS EYEBALLS;KUNLUN LOSES PENALTY KICK

At 7:30a.m. October 22 on Beijing Time, Shenzhen Kunlun Red Star Women Hockey Team in Markham, Canada ushered the first match of a new era . The match versus Markham Thunder was the first match of Shenzhen Kunlun Red Star at CWHL, as well as the home opener of Thunder after moving to Markham this season.

Kunlun Red Star debuted at CWHL, and was warmly welcomed by Markham. Canadian Senate President Beverly Senate, Mr. Tan Geng, MP and Mr. Xue Jiaping, Mayor of Markham, all came to the scene for support. Consul General He Wei of the Chinese Consulate General in Toronto also arrived on the scene to root for Kunlun. Yue Xinyu , founder of Beijing Kunlun Red Star Hockey Club, Zhao Xiaoyu, chairman of the board of Kunlun Red Star Hockey Club, Ms. Brenda Andres, president of CWHL Alliance, member of Ice Hockey Hall of Fame and Kunlun Red Star International Committee member Esposito also witnessed this historic moment on the scene.

In today's game, Kunlun Red Star scored the first goal in the first section, but opponents in the latter two sections pulled two goals back. Especially in the distal section, Kunlun missed the opportunity of penalty kick, eventually was defeated  1-2.
